A Charming 33sqm Residence Spread Across Three Storeys in Pink
The XS House in Taiwan may be small, but its design boasts everything needed by city slickers living there.
The XS House, an architecturally designed apartment in Taipei, Taiwan, is everything we’ve imagined of in an inner-city residence.
It has a soothing atmosphere with natural birch tones and plenty of natural lighting; while also boasting an eye-catching pink feature.
PhoebeSayswow Architects in Philadelphia designed this one-bedroom apartment as a prototype to demonstrate how easily and intelligently residents could live within a city with over 2.7 million inhabitants.
Watch: An easy three hour home project
This project fits three storeys into one bright room with double-height ceiling, all for just 33sqm total area.
The living area tucks itself away to the right of the entrance, consisting of only essential grey lounge furniture and three-legged coffee table.
Modern kitchen, dining area and bathroom amenities can be found three steps below, with a classic white ladder acting as the staircase to access a spacious mezzanine bedroom above.
Phoebe Wen, co-director of Phoebe Sayswow Architects. states: “Three dimensional levels of seating allow for an engaging dialogue within a flat environment.”
Left wall of this room features clever storage solutions; box-style cabinets provide space to display trinkets and books while as you progress further into the space, concealed cupboards in pale birch tone begin taking over storage duties.
