Bali Favorites: Ideal Shopping and Accommodation Options

Bali needs no introduction these days; offering an irresistible combination of culture, surf and sun in Southeast Asia has long been a sought-after vacation spot among Australians.

Un area that often goes overlooked among sun-seekers is the island’s growing homeware industry, which provides fantastic products at reasonable prices.

Here are three of our favourite stores and two of our recommended places for restful slumber.

Kim Soo is a homeware store located in Seminyak, Bali that caters towards boho-rustic style with their product selection ranging from well-crafted teak furniture and rustic ceramic vases, terracotta pots and pendants crafted by local artists to rustic pendant lights made out of rattan cord. Kim Soo puts an emphasis on local handmade products.

Kim Soo, originally from Sydney, established her eponymous store in Bali after spending three years getting to know local artists and producers. Since then, Soo has expanded her brand into an international venture featuring its own photo studio, international clients, online store and Collingwood boutique.

Add texture to your home with one of the store’s unique rattan fish traps or striking black-and-white pillows, which feature traditional or modern designs.

Bungalow Living provides texture that’s essential for creating a Balinese aesthetic, providing exactly what’s needed to get there.

Giovanna Aryafara and her husband own and operate this Canggu store, offering furniture and soft furnishings inspired by both Indian and Balinese design – plus, there’s even its own cafe!

Canggu, an expat enclave famed for its surf breaks, centuries-old Hindu temples and lush rice fields is home to both shops and cafes that provide service.

Start your morning off right by sipping their Arabica blend at their cafe, then shop next door for batik pillows or locally made handwoven baskets sourced locally.

Shop: Natural Concept
Natural Concept is a homeware store run by Lio Collection and DC Hospitality that specialises in natural and organic materials.

Linen bedding and recycled wooden furniture are essential components of the modern household, while cushions and rattan lights add flair.

Due to their focus on simplicity and high-quality craftsmanship, visiting this store should not be missed.
